Well, just heard from the college that I was not selected for the scholarship. I am OK with this and I will return back to school in the fall for my educational leadership program. I will need the break and focus on my health and healing. I have another issue pending....PCP found a lump so ultrasound is on Wednesday with a diagnostic mammo. All of this with surgery in less than 2 weeks. My PCP gave me a prescription for Xanax to help me sleep. I started the preop diet (shakes). They are really thick and I am glad that with my pouch - they are filling. I think if I didn't have weight loss surgery I would be ready to rip open the fridge. I have been able to behave myself and drop 4 more pounds. So I will focus on what I need to get done this week and prepare for surgery. Cindy Cindy, I'm so sorry about the scholarship, and very proud for you that you got as far as you did. But I'm very not happy to hear about a lump and will keep you in the light that it's benign, a cyst or anything but something to worry about. Agreed, how about Ambien instead of Xanax, which is actually better for anxiety not necessarily sleep. Hang in there and please keep us updated.

Thank you. I only have 10 Xanax pills that I may start before surgery. My PCP said it is addictive and I have never taken them before, but she wanted to prescribe them for me so I could get some sleep.

IMHO, Ambien is a better choice for sleep.
Good luck today with the mammo, etc!

Really hon, have to agree; Xanax is good for anxiety, which if you're feeling that given all you're dealing with, it will relieve, and then you'll likely be able to sleep better, true; but otherwise, Ambien is better suited as a sleep-remedy only. Thinking of you and sending good thoughts about the mammogram today. Big hugs!

Thank you for all of your support!!!
Well had the mammo on the LB, then an ultrasound and finally only to be examined by the radiologist - ALL IS CLEARED!!!!Nothing was found and I was asked to follow up with my PCP.
I had my awards dinner on Tuesday night and School Board meeting last night and finished my finals with my students. I need to clean up my classroom and enter grades and have the FBLA induction ceremony for officers on Friday. Then next week I have a conference at the NY Stock Exchange. Finally to be switched!!!
My sleep hasn't been too bad lately, I think I am just tired by the time I get to bed. Except for last night - woke up with leg cramping - horrible.
Hopefully I will not need the Xanax. I only lost 4 pounds so far from Sunday on those shakes and there are times that I am hungry. 10 more days out from surgery.

Yes I cannot wait for the surgery date either. I am calling my mother in law this weekend to go down with us. I will be cleaning the house like a mad woman to get everything in order because I will not feel like cleaning house when I come home!
I like to get down to 250 by surgery and this way I have 100 pounds to lose. I wore a size 20 dress to awards dinner. When I was at my lowest with RNY - I was an 18/20 so I almost feel I am starting where I left off. One of my students asked me today if I was losing weight! I am glad people are noticing. It will not be such a shock as when I go back to school.

Don't be surprised if they don't recognize you when school starts back. VSG to DS 7-01-14/ Dr Boyce, Knoxville, TN /Age 40/5'8"/HW 287/CW 273.2

You're doing great Cindy, I'm so glad you are relieved of the stress of the biopsy results, and I love what you've been able to accomplish prior to surgery, it is SO inspiring! Plus you gave yourself a built-in privacy back up for the questions you don't wish to answer Wait till they see you when school starts!!

Sorry about the scholarship. You can wow them next year and you'll be in better shape for it.
Now you can concentrate on your new DS life!

Thank you. It wasn't meant to happen. So plan B is to take a class at a time and use the tuition reimbursement from my school district. I will have to juggle money, but it is doable.
So now I have the time to rest.
