Thank youuu!! Dr. Sudan prefers to do it all in one, so that's what we're going with.

Also as a little update, I've kind of been gnawing my nails worrying about whether my GERD will be horrible with my DS, whether my hernia is bad, if my stomach is developing ulcers etc. Dr. Sudan said he thought it would be okay, but wanted to go ahead and do a Upper Endoscopy to check everything out just in case. That was this morning and it was excellent news all around! Labs are great- no more anemia, all vites are good, hemoglobin and ferritin are both up as well as D, AND there is NO HERNIA, and only one patch of irritation in my stomach. I haven't smoked in somewhere around a month and apparently that has really improved my stomach situation. Soo, tomorrow I have my final pre-op appointment, another psych clearance because the first one was inaccurate (that is a WHOLE 'nother story). And then it will all be in my insurance's and Doctor's capable hands. I am so excited, y'all. He still says it is looking like my date will be before the end of the year, insurance willing. Will update when I get my date or other news! Thanks so much for the information and continued support! Wowza and great news! I swear, you are one of THE most evolved, on top of your life people at 22. You're going to be great with this. The physical issues are very real, this is a big surgery, slow going recovery for me (also a RNY revisionista) and I didn't have any complications, super smooth. I took off five months because I had the medical leave, and because my job is toxic and nuts, no half days, part time allowed, and I'm glad I did. Should point out and old enough to be your mama and then some But it's a big surgery. Second time at the rodeo helped a lot though, head already learned so much, and while my RNY didn't work, I was well prepared in so many ways, physically and mentally, already been through my surgery 'shock'. Keep us posted!

Katie I know what you are talking about with getting the horror stories about WLS starving to death. My mom was a nurse for 40 years she begged me not to have WLS in 2000. She remembered the horror stories from the 70's/80's where the were doing the old original version of the DS. She was so pleased that I did it eventually. So your sister and mother are probably thinking of those cases. WLS has advanced so much since then.
