Hi!
I'm Marie and this is my first post here. Was on the other board but came here when I saw Jo's post. I had VSG on 9-13-11 (3 1/2 months out) and have lost 61 lbs. No complications or complaints. Loving my VSG!!

I'm post-op on the verge of maintenance. 5 lbs to go to my goal weight but I'm determined to go at LEAST 5 lbs below that. I'm with Buckeye Girl - it the pounds would SWEAR they would only come off my legs I'd go for another 15 lbs below goal, but no such assurances such is life.

I had my VSG September 1st, 2008 in Mexico with Dr. Joya. Guess that makes me in maintenance. Love my sleeve and have no regrets. I am new to this site so it will take me some time to figure thing out. I am looking forward to reading all the posts! Dee

My 3 day pre-op clear liquid diet began today. Leave Sunday for Mexico and have VSG on Monday.
I learned today that you do not eat cherry sugar free jello after you have taken a laxative...LOL!!! Please choose another color other than red.
Life is good!
I first was going to have a lap band, but after much research, I decided to go with something that would be more natural for my body.

I am a newbie to the whole thing. Actually looking at getting the sleeve - thinking possibly mid-March! My mother is scheduled to have lap band placed beginning of March.

I am 8 months out. I have lost 85 pounds so far. I still need to lose about 40 more pounds. My goal is to be 160# by the end of 2012. I am eating 800-1000 calories per day. I am terrible about exercise. I just absolutely don't enjoy it, but I know that it must be done. The only exercise that I like to do is swimming. My goals for the upcoming year is to increase my exercise as well.

I'm 4 1/2 months post surgery. Seems like a year, so much has changed in my life. Lots more energy, new wardrobe, new hair style, gym sessions working on toning and building muscle around my tender tailbone. Staying away from carb foods, eating rare steak, pork chops, fresh fish and chicken wings. Fav protein drink is lemonade with fruit punch Mio to make it pink lemonade. ;-)

But my knees and feet have not allowed that now for a while. I have had one knee replaced and refuse to have the other done. After I heal from the sleeve, I am looking at surgery on both feet, one at a time, to remove many bone spurs in each one......Gawd!!! what I have done to my body, but gonna fix it and make it right day after tomorrow!

I try to do resistance bands, jump rope, and walking. I am just absolutely lazy. I would rather be doing other things. I can't say that I don't have time because I am sitting in bed on my laptop right now and I could be exercising. I will be going out shopping tonight, and I will count that as exercise. I am going to the shooting range next week. It's not exercise, but it sure is fun.

I'm in maintenance. Been at goal for, IDK, 4-5 months maybe. I'm at that stage where I'm scared that maintenance won't "hold". I was scared that I'd be the ONE person surgery wouldn't work for, then scared I'd hit a plateau and stay there permanently before I was ready to be done, and none of that happened. That doesn't keep me from being scared in maintenance, haha! But so far, so good. I can't believe I continue to be willing to do the things I need to do for maintenance and health.

I thought I was in maintenance, but dammit if I didn't put on 5 pounds recently, so I guess I'm going back into "get it off" mode again.
I'm going into minnow paws, and I think all the hormone changes are messing with my body, my weight, and my attitude.
Oh, and I'm feeling hunger again - don't know if that is ghrelin returning or more stupid menopause crap, but I don't like it. No I don't!

I am another total newbie, and just scheduled my VSG surgery for the day before my 54th birthday -- on February 13th (the surgery that is). I decided this is the BEST birthday gift I could ever receive. So I'll be starting my preop diet in about 2 weeks. I have probably researched this as much as anyone on this board, but still have questions, though most seem to be answered in some post or other. So HI everyone. <waving frantically>

I am 22 months out from surgery. I consider myself in maintenance. I have maintained the weight I am at now for 9 months. I would love to lose 10-15 more, but I'm very happy where I am at now. So... if I do, I do; if I don't, I don't. It would be nice, but it's not crucial!

I'm 17 months post op and no where near goal. I have lost 160lbs, but have been stalled for 7 months....and I need to lose like 300 more!!! I'm afraid it hasn't worked like I'd hoped, but then again i always knew I would need the DS.

I'm about 2.5 years out and have a 15 lb regain, that I haven't tried too hard yet to lose, but better do something about it soon!

I'm 23 months out and in maintenance. Weight is off, plastics done, now what? Morbid obesity has been in my life for decades. Now onto learning to live in the world as a slim woman!

I am about 5 months out, so still losing. Ever since about 3 months out, I've felt so completely normal physically (except for capacity) that it's been weird and wonderful.
I weigh and measure, and I track everything I eat. But I do not always stay under 800 calories. I am going to work on that. I never lost my hunger, but I think there is something psychological going on. I'm about to go under 200 pounds, and I always have problems at certain "trigger" weights (260, 230, 200, 170). It's like I have to wrap my head around getting smaller. So I'm taking a deep breath and taking a plunge into onederland!!
