I am all glad to hear such good news for you. You look so beautiful. Your mom sounds a lot like mine. It is nice to have a mom who is supportive. Love the outfit.

It is our 28th wedding anniversary! I love this man who has stood with me 'throug thick and thin'. He always believed in me, accepted me unconditionally, and is willing to make any sacrifice for me. We are spending four days at Tilodi, a luxury bush lodge. Game drives, guided hikes, swimming, lazy afternoons and romantic dinners. The last time I explored the bush on foot was as a teen. We spotted giraffes, a crocodile, assorted buck and learnt what the various spoor meant. This morning we drove and saw a rare buffalow and three endangered rhino. Right outside our door there have been fish eagles, a hippo, kudu, baboons and more. There have also been so many NSV's. This week it will be 18 months since surgery. I had my very first ever pedicure in a salon. I always hated my podgy feet and ignored them. Now my lovely red toenails compliment my new HIGH HEELED, sandals. It looked perfect with my very first post wls dress.

Congratulations on your anniversary! My hubby and I had our 28th in March, although we didn't get to do anything as fantastic as a posh lodge in the bush! You look absolutely stunning in your beautiful red dress and high heals.
I told my husband that the thing I am most looking forward to, after I lose enough weight, is girly shoes!!!

At the end of our first trail race. 6,8km, Diamond Dash in Cullinan. It was a beautiful walk that we did in just under two hours.

Leonie, I really want to thank you for recommending biltong. I love it. I never much liked jerkey -- I felt like I had to wrestle it to the ground and plunge a stake (a steak?) into it's tough-as-old-boots heart before I could actually derive any nourishment -- but the biltong is great. I jut bought ten bags and some dried sausage from the same SA company.

You guys are all so super sweet! Thank you for being my ever-present cheering squad!
Summer is here and I am enjoying the walks and the gym. Mid November we are planning a longer one day hike.
Maggiesara, I am glad the biltong is working for you. If you come to visit, I will introduce you to all the local variations.

You are looking too good! I can only echo what others have said. Your story and life are an inspiration to me and obviously many others. Enjoy summer in your hemisphere - getting to be winter here in Omaha, US. Looks like a wonderful trip and a good time being had by all.

Our holiday was just three short nights. But it was packed super full of fun. It is cool that we have so many wonderful destinations within an hour or two of home. Hiking and trail racing gives us the opportunity to explore amazing places. Hey, I could even go spelunking now that I no longer have to fear getting stuck!

You are super fortunate to have such amazing places to go to when you just want to "get away for a few days." Not many people can say that, you know. Glad you had a great time and I really enjoyed the pictures and commentary.

It is 21 months since surgery and I can finally say that life no longer revolves around the DS. Eating has settled into a comfortable routine. I know what gives me gas, and choose when to indulge. I eat loads of protein and my labs are all excellent. Vitamins happen consistently enough. I occasionally have the last batch in the middle of the night. It is easy to drink 100+oz of water plus four or five cups of coffee. My weight has been the same for six months. I am not skinny, but can wear and do anything. Neither low carbing or chocolate bingeing seems to make any difference. Exercise has become a habit and I really enjoy hiking and working out with my exercise therapist. Life is about my family and beautiful grandchildren. The birth of our grandson Playing in the park Family Christmas Clothes Yes life is good.
