I've hit 100lbs lost. First holiday cycle in years that I will actually lose weight through.. I still love my food (hello smoked suckling piggy tonight!) - high protein/mod fat/low carb keeps my brain & body happy. I took a stand and deactivated over on the other place due to unfairness.. (ok, maybe not a "happy thought" I needed to do it for me and my own sanity..) But pulling the plug did give me some feeling of satisfaction. I am now the size I was when I got married 10 years ago.. my wedding dress fits again.. I am still losing weight!
I see familiar faces from the VSG board, people I respect and love chatting with.. so here's to hoping we all stick around and make this place the best it can be!

I'm glad you feel good about the deactivation: their loss, Jo.
I think the further out VSGers get, the more they need besides JUST WLS stuff.
maintenance = real life and there is a major lack of that on OH. I think "Off topic" posts are considered less than, somehow, and the assumption is you can talk about grams of carbs if you are serious.
to moving ON!

Congratulations on your many successes Jo! I can imagine how wonderful you feel. I am getting closer and closer to deactivating for the same reasons on the other site. I am staying put just for a short time to try and get the word out (especially to newbies) about this site. Although I am finding it harder and harder to tolerate their "reasons" for moderating. SH

Congrats Jo!
I didn't deactivate over there, but I did delete all of my blog posts (after I copied them to a Word file).

Hi there, Jo! I'm cyber-stalking you! Your posts have meant a lot to me and I'm all about getting as much support as possible. I'm still new enough out to be a one-note samba still, but I look forward to the rest of the journey.
Hugs!!

Congrats Jo! I'm glad you've made such good progress! I also agree with Jackie that the farther out we get, the less we need the discussion of WLS stuff. I'm only 6 months out and I find myself looking for the OT posts. One can only discuss grams of protein and grams of carbs so many times! LOL. I did enjoy your posts over there and appreciated that you obviously were putting serious thought into your replies. Amy

Welcome to the Century Club! You are doing fantastic! This was also my first holiday season where I lost weight. I did splurge here and there, but luckily the scale still said 175 today. And forgive me for adding this random thought, but while I was in Nashville, I popped into Kate Spade and tried on some clothes. I found a dress that was perfection (all except for the price, but if that sucker gets marked down, it is mine). It just felt so good to be in a boutique type store and be able to fit into the clothes there with ease. I do believe Kate Spade goes up to 14 online, but in the store the 10s (and up, I guess) were kept in the back on cheapie hangers. And when I went to put my clothes back, they returned the size 10 dress to the back. Oh well, I didn't care. They had my size in there and that was a first for me. Anyway, sorry to ramble there. Congrats again! 100 lbs...that is really amazing. Lindsey
