I need to start tracking my measurements again.. and focusing less on the scale as the last 20lbs or so that I'd *like* to lose are going to apparently be a bitch. I had a good long (my first real!) 3 week stall, then dropped a lot fast, went on a crazy leg-muscle frying hike and gained a few right back. No eating changes.. so I know it was fluid retention from muscle burn.. BUT.. it didn't want to fall off again.. and I have not re-achieved the nice low from prior to that day since.. it's been a few more weeks. My rings were tight, not so much now.. but still. If I wasn't tracking my intake I'd be seriously freaking.. as it is I'm just minorly freaking. I KNOW I didn't eat enough to have real gains, my waist size (the only thing I've been measuring in the last few mo) hasn't gone up.. More hikes, more scale fluctuations.. but the effortless falling numbers have stopped. Now it's a ping-pong game apparently. I need to change focus earlier than I was planning. Body is not cooperating with the mind- go figure! So, now comes the measuring tape to chart things moreso than that scale. I know I have some more to go, I *think* I have an additional 20-25 to drop.. I think with the increased activity/muscle involvement I need to focus more on measurements than scale movement as I am a water-retainer still. 4lbs up in 3 days is easy for me, and it just doesn't fall off as fast as it climbs on! I also think I may want to do that body comp now instead of waiting till I hit 155. That's all, just wanted to get that off my chest!

You know me. I am a rabid avid fan of the body comp. It will just let you know what IS and then you can carry on with the knowing. I missed it last time they were here, but I do it every 6 months, which is time enough to see what the ratios are and if I need to tweak anything either way.
It sure as SHIT does not fall off as fast as it comes on. No way Jose (if that's your real name).
Nice chest, Jo. :}

Thanks schweetie, you know it's just one of those mind-games that sometimes just starts getting to you, even when you know in your mind it's one way, but somewhere in the reptile part is an evil hissy voice saying another.. Yeah, bodycomp time. The not knowing is starting to bug me.. and waiting for a specific number is just silly.
On another note- saw my sisters for the first time since surgery and all seems to have went well enough! My middle older sister is now on the 6mo track to surgery and is aiming for the VSG.. I have alerted her to the DS as well, and will direct her here too for some good info. She had lots of questions about stuff, and thankfully she also has a good friend that is 2 years out from her VSG & at goal and is very happy to help out along the way as well.

Jo, you're doing so well. Try not to let the mind tricks get to you. The body compostition sounds like a great idea. Maybe you could shake up your diet a bit as well.

I do understand that stupid Sleestack brain hissing crap at you!! Mostly it hisses at me when its trying to get me to buy into group think and that I need to be at the bottom of the BMI to be *insert word here*.
Wrong, you farging vastage!!
Do you have a bodycomp place convenient to you!? I was amused that doing my pulmonary function tests at the asthma clinic every 4 months taught me hydrostatic weighing skills - since you have to blow out all the air in your lungs that you can for both. Who knew that was a skill I would ever use anywhere else :}
And right on about your sister!! Its nice to be able to share what you have gleaned with someone who really wants to know (and not just quibble with you about it! HA!!).

Ok side note.... hilarious for bringing up Sleestacks. Thank you so much for bringing that up. That will give me a giggle for the rest of the day.
I've had a couple stalls since surgery. The first real huge one was for the almost 4 weeks and I actually gained a couple pounds that didn't come right off either. It really messed with my mind! I hadn't changed a single thing!! I'm not one that takes measurements though so I didn't have that to go by. However, during this stupid stall, I did end up losing an entire pant size. So I decided it was my body reorganizing. I'm sure that is what could be happening with you too! You're doing great! Amy

I am now hearing the Land of the Lost theme in my head! Inner Sleestak.. that's a spooky image! Yeah, the stalls have happened before to a lesser degree & normally never really bug me past a hmmm momement.. it is just the back o' the brain fear that I'm done when I can plainly see I'm not quite yet *looking at you belly!* Normally I'd hit a stall, gain, hold and lose.. this time it was one long stall with gains, lose, gain it all back plus a couple and hold again for a few more weeks. Just the getting close to the end sputters I gather. I don't have any dunk tanks near me- I looked a while back when I got surgery, but we do have a BodPod place, so that's where I shall be soon enough! I just needed to get it out there- kind of one of those if I say it, I WILL DO IT things with me!
