I was wondering if anyone here used firming lotion for loose skin or if there are any "tips or tricks" to help prevent loose skin. Thanks!

Sorry to say, but there is pretty much nothing (aside from surgery) that you can do about the loose skin. I was told to expect loose skin anywhere I had stretchmarks, which was pretty much everywhere on me!

Ditto Elisa, nothing topical is going to prevent it if you are going to have it.. damaged skin, once stretched cannot be "fixed".. only removed. Everywhere I had tons of stretch marks I now have crepe-paper wrinkly loose skin.

Firming lotion is only a great idea for people selling firming lotion.
Sorry.

I bought some of that garbage 17 years ago after WLS, was a lot younger, and used it all the time....for nothing. Doesn't work at all.

Firming lotion is a sham.
Whether and/or how much your skin bounces back on its own is dependent on numerous factors:
1. Your age. Young skin is more resilient. 2. How long you were morbidly obese with your skin stretched out. 3. Stretch marks are the sign of permanent damage. These areas can't bounce back.
There are no tips or tricks to prevent loose skin. What is going to happen is what is going to happen. But there is always plastics...

I had a different experience. I started using firming lotions right after surgery. I also used a lot of exfoliants. I believe (and this is only my personal belief) that as we lose weight rapidly, our skin's normal shedding of old dead cells cannot keep up with the rate of cell loss.
So for me it was constant exfoliation followed by tightening lotion. I also drank a lot of water and did a lot of weight lifting.
I have been told by a personal trainer that I do not have the skin and body of a weight loss surgery patient. My skin (at age 63) is firm and smooth. Maybe it was just luck or maybe my skin care regimen worked for me.

I remember Dr. Dean Edell talking about this once and there may be some benefit bu it comes from the actual massaging of the skin and tissue, not the lotion! His recommendation was to use some standard skin lotion like Vaseline intensive care on sale at the drugstore and massage it in. If it helps good, If it doesn't you spent $1.69 on lotion.

Rubbing yourself down with moose ejaculate by the light of a quarter waning moon works.
Or, maybe that's for plantar warts.
I also vote "no" to skin that is scarred up (stretch marks) being sucked in, tucked up, firmed up by much of anything but surgery.

Now I know what I did wrong. BTW- where do you get your moose ejaculate from? Mooses r us in my area has been back ordering for the last 2 weeks with no relief in sight. I think the one moose they had keeled over, he had a big smile on his face but he's dead none the less.
