I waited as long as possible to get a new suit for work. I have need for one about 5 times a year. Finally 3 weeks ago I got a nice new grey suit size 16 regular. Fit perfect.
Today I wore the pants (I'm down to 2 slacks and 1 pair of jeans that fit). They are hanging on me.
I expected my loss to slow down as I got nearer my goal. I don't have my scale, last weigh was a month ago and I was down 110. I believe I'm now in the 100's, will confirm Friday at my visit.
So how often do people not slow down in weight? I really didn't do this to be rail thin. I want to feel my best, that's about 155-165. At this rate, I will be there by May and my suit I need again in may is going to look silly!!
Good issues to have!

it's seems pretty common to think, what if I get too thin. it really takes your mind longer to grasp what's going on so you aren't going to have a very objective feeling for what you look like. try not to worry about this!
and the clothes, well you get the privilege of giving them away to someone larger than you. isn't that nice?

Good issues to have! I had a suit that I loved; in fact I wore it when I interviewed for my current job. It finally got sloppy big but I hated to get rid of it. I finally gave it to an organization called Dress for Success. They help women returning to work get clothes for interviewing then a few outfits to get started at the new job. I was told that they especially need larger sizes and seemed very appreciative of the clothes I took to them. I like to think that someone wore my navy blue "interview suit" when they got thier new job.

Can you find a seamstress that might can help you take it in and look sharp come May?
For me, I just upped my oils, nuts, avos, nut butters (and invented my Naturally More peanutbutter mushed with hershey dark special cocoa and rolled up in a slice of havarti for a quick 300 calorie, not much room taking up delicious snack that I would have with some meat, oil and chee...).
Absolutely women's shelters and things like the Dress for Success are great for sharing things you undergrew, but maybe a seamstress would be cheaper than another suit?

Do you have a Burlington Coat Factory near you? They have some reasonably priced stuff. Maybe check with consignment shops too.

I waited for soooooo long to buy new clothes because I didn't want to waste money on new stuff that would be too big soon. I waited so long that people at work were complaining daily that I needed to get new clothes. So I finally got some when I thought for sure I wouldn't lose much more and they are already too big. LOL. I suppose these are good issues to have. Amy

I had an outfit I loved, when it was too big I found a tailor at a dry cleaning place that fixed it for me. Wore it for another season, then gave it to a thrift store.

Great ideas everyone! I will definitely "re-home" my suit, it's not like a tailored $500 suit but it's nice. I don't think a seamstress will work in 5 months LOL.
I too am getting comments. I got 3 new pair of slacks since Christmas, 2 pair of jeans. 1 pair of slacks and 1 pair of jeans I can't wear for fear of indecent exposure! Just this morning a friend at work said "did you just get those pants?" I said yes, just at Christmas. She said "wow they are hanging on you, you need more".
I explained that I'm at the point where they have to be unwearable for me to buy more. I've given away more clothes in the past 6 months than in my entire life. And while I am shopping clearance and thrift, it's still hard to buy something and have it unwearable in a month ;(
I can't complain truly. This surgery has changed my life. But it's a little scary how fast this has gone, and actually I'm a slow loser at 1-3 pounds per week, my surgeon told me he didn't want to see less than 3 pounds per week. Can't wait to go in, he's going to crack up as it's been 4 months since he saw me last.
All good right?
