I am finding myself almost never hungry. Nothing sounds good to eat. I don't want to eat anything. I will try bites of things, but nothing sounds good. I don't want sliders, protein, sweets, nothing. Coffee is about the only thing that I have wanted for the past week.
I had my bout of dehydration a week ago, and I am making sure that I am getting fluids in, but it is such a struggle to find anything that I want to eat.
What sounds good to you? What would be something that tastes great? The only food I hate is bananas, so it is not like I am picky.

Went to chinese with my husband. I ate some mushrooms and a chicken wing. Yuck!!! Still no luck

I'm sorry your having the food blahs.. has this been since surgery or since your bout of dehydration?
I really never lost my taste for food post-op, just the hunger disappeared completely for a few months. Now I get hungry, and I crave certain tastes as well- both only occasionally though. Like right now, I'm physically hungry and impatiently waiting on the flavors in the chicken salad to come together more before I dig in.

Since the dehydration. I never lost my hunger after surgery, but I have for the past week. The food blahs definitely describe it. Not sure what I want to eat, so I just eat nothing

Hmm. I would definitely eat what your body requires, whether it's from shakes for now if you can't deal with food, or even blah stuff like cottage cheese.. As long as you are not still dehydrated, and nothing else is up.. you should start feeling better, and have your appetite return eventually. I would concentrate on at least getting your nutrition in you.. and keep pushing fluids as well. Don't run yourself down anymore than you already are by not fueling yourself properly.

I would guess this is temporary - make sure you get in FLUIDS and protein - have you tried Syntrax Nectars? make with water so very light - and don't worry about it.
don't force yourself to eat food you don't want, just make sure you get in fluid and protein and whatever supplements.
this will pass!

I was just sleeved a few days ago. I have zero hunger. It is the weirdest feeling. I do not remember a time I wasn't hungry.

I lost my taste for food for a while post op. Probably a good 3 months. I pretty much had to force myself to eat to make sure I was getting the right things in. Almost nothing tasted good to me. That has passed now but I'm still not hungry very often. Just things are tasting better to me now. If its just a new thing, is it possible that you're sick? There are some weird illness going around at my work, so it just occurs to me, that maybe you're sick. Amy

i am forcing a protein coffee down right now, because i'm lacking in protein without one. i just can't eat enough yet to get to 40g of protein...so shake it is for now.
seafood has been my go to: shrimp cocktail crab cake / salmon cake poached fish tuna salad
i'll think i'm STARVING & sit down and only be able to get 2 shrimp in before i am completely full. not sure how long this will last - but i'm really ready to ditch the shakes.

I wish i had lost my hunger! Ive been hungery since about 2wks post op. If i go longer than about 2hrs i get nauseous then shakey so i eat often.
I hope you start feeling better. Just like other said just focus on your liquids and protein shakes for right now. From what i read on the boards it seems dehydration really throws your body off for awhile:(

I really don't feel bad. I have decided to make myself eat enough for protein requirement. Today, I have had coffee, but I have country style ribs cooking. The ribs actually smell great to me, so maybe that is a start. I know that I am not still dehydrated because I am drinking like crazy.

I had no hunger at all, and even more, food was very unappealing to me. I had to force myself to eat the protein/veggie things. I always enjoyed coffee with protein in it. But early out, for at least the first six months, the only things I really enjoyed were dill pickles. Every night I would eat a dill pickle and really savored it. Wierd, I know.
Now I have rediscovered how addictive carbs are, and how easily my body adapts to them. I have to force myself to avoid carbs and eat my proteins and veggies. Otherwise I'm just snacking on crackers all day... not good, not good.

I never lost my hunger until a few weeks ago (I am 2-1/2 years out) and thought..hey! Maybe I am a late bloomer!
But nah, I was just coming down with the crud. Back to hunger as usual before I was through healing up.
Its not good or bad, its just the way I am!

Sorry you're sturggling. I don't get hungry per se, but I get kinda cranky/low-blood sugary if I forget to eat and go too long. I tend to eat on a schedule.
Early out, my surgeon basically told me to focus on protein and fluids. Eating food is less important than getting fluids and protein in. I add Isopure Dutch Chocolate protein powder to my coffee in the morning and usually after I work out. 1 scoop is 25g protein. I usually go half's but I also can eat most of my protein during the day at a year out.

I'm kind of early out and am never hungry OR thirsty . . . I don't dislike eating, I just don't think about it which I actually like. The fluids are what I have trouble with, really trying hard to keep from getting dehydrated. I drink 60 g of protein a day, eat some cottage cheese, maybe some lunch meat or a bite or two of some other protein . . . very strange!!!

I'm almost 5 months out and I've had hunger ever since I started back on purees. But it's easily satisfied, and not hysterical like it used to me.

I know when its time to eat. Lunch for me is at 11:30. Today I was sitting in court (work) and by noon I had hunger pangs. Difference is they came and left in 10 minutes and I could have gone to dinner without food at that point.
I feel hunger but its fleeting.

Unfortunately, I never lost the hungry feeling. If I don't eat something every couple of hours, my body lets me know it. In the first few weeks, though, I felt blah about food just because I was so sick of eating soup, cottage cheese, and sugar free pudding. I still can't eat sugar free chocolate pudding.

I have hunger now, but only occasionally. I eat by a schedule when I'm not feeling hungry. I have to get the protein in!

I was starving the first three weeks after sleeve. Now I get hungry, but I generally do not get hungry until about 3-4pm.

I've had hunger since about day 3 postop... Real, annoying, grumbly hunger. Once I started on normal foods, it was easier to manage. However, even if I have a meal full of dense proteins, I get hungry about 3 hours after eating. Per my doctor, it is ok if I eat every 3-4 hours... but no grazing allowed

No. Hunger is gone and I LOVE that. Now I am working on not eating by habit. Which is a beast of a different color.

Not having to fight the constant, ravenous hunger makes it much easier to eat the "right" foods. Before I would have grabbed six twinkies and a couple Little Debbies to munch on while I waited for my meal to cook. Now I find it much easier to make good food choices, and be able to wait for it. Not always, but a LOT more often.

Small hunger if I keep up with my eating schedule. Eat proper amounts at regular times. I still get a day or two now and then where I have no interest in eating food. Those days I usually force myself to eat something- usually tuna- it's quick and easy.
