How long did it take before you were cleared for exercise, specifically aqua aerobics post op? I am getting sleeved in late Feb with Aceves, and I will ask my gym for a med leave, just not sure for how long. Or, for that matter, when I will feel like getting in the pool again.

you can't get in the pool until your incisions are completely healed - I forget how long. couple weeks?

most surgeons want you walking immediately after surgery (such as , down the hallways of the hospital). i had a weight restriction of nothing over 5 lbs till wk 8..
something to think about, i was very healthy/active going into my revision from the lap band. no significant weight gain either - yet i suffered greatly with fatigue. i'm just now back to normal, 2+ months out. i've read fatigue is an issue many have.
good luck with surgery!!

I started walking after the first 2-3 days for about 1/4 to 1/2 miles slowly. After first 2 weeks, increased walking. I was not able to swim for about 3-4 weeks. Incisions had to be completely closed.

Thanks, everyone. I was guessing about a month, too. I have three little ones, so fatigue is not an option (wink). Here's hoping it all goes smoothly!

My doc's nominal plan is for swimming/immersion after about 3 weeks or when the incisions are fully closed - I had a bit of lingering seepage which kept me out of the pool until four weeks out. Then is was relatively gentle swimming, working back up gradually to avoid overworking the abs and incisions. I started back to the gym to get back into some strength training at the three week mark - pretty low level to get things moving again, and avoiding ab work until the 12th week.

I believe it was about 3-4 weeks like the others said. Best of luck to you.
