Ok surgery went great, I am home and feeling fantastic.
When I came home Dr Almanza gives you pain meds, indigestion meds and antibiotics to take once you are home. I have had no need of pain meds at all. I have not needed anything for indigestion. But I know I need to continue the Antibiotics for healing purposes.
My problem is the Antibiotics are so bitter I can't get them down. I would say I throw them up but they dont get past my toungue, even if I put them at the back of my throat, cut them in half try taking with something to wash them down fast. Nothing seems to work.
Has anyone else had problems with meds, and how did you get them down. Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks, Charles

You can try mixing with apple sauce, cool whip, pudding if you are allowed those items.

If you can crush them, try that. then mix with yogurt or applesauce or something.
I've always been able to swallow pills on minimal liquid so I just dealt with it (I had an infection postop and was on 3 antibiotics...) but it was def. an ordeal...

I had to be on antibiotics shortly after surgery and I could not swallow pills due to some pretty significant swelling that I had. I had liquid antibiotics and they were TERRIBLE! I have a new respect for the stuff we ask our children to swallow. eww! Anyway, I don't have any real advice other than I found something very savory to chase it down with. That seemed to help. Amy

Not sure on the antibiotics but wanted to say congratulations on a successful surgery! Glad you are on the other side of it and now the fun begins.
