Happy Fourth of July, Everyone!
It's been a great holiday weekend, albeit busy! I'll take that fun, fast pace any day. Since last week, my husband and I have seen two movies: We loved Jurassic World, he loved Terminator (I could have done without Terminator but it was his turn to pick!) Prior to the second movie, we ate at a great new restaurant called, "Harvest" featuring wonderful farm to table food. I even tried Jerk Chicken Flatbread and it was out of this world (this is daring for me!) The edamame was also wonderful, it was Spicy, sweet and salty edamame. It was a little rainy this past week so I didn't get out as much as I would have liked to, but I still did a little. Most of my activity centered around tennis. Still undefeated on the Monday night league with another match coming up tomorrow. I'm just having a ball with this!
No surgical date, yet, as I'm still awaiting insurance approval. Like my usual self, I'm starting to get very nervous and just want to chicken out but I realize the pain and uneasy feelings I get in my abdomen will not go away unless I get things fixed. So, that's just what I'll do, get fixed and feel better!
We're headed down the shore to finish fixing the dock so we can put the boat in the water. We're also doing some kayaking and crabbing. I think I'll pack a picnic lunch/snack and the hubby has promised me some yummy clams! The weather seems beautiful, I hope it's as warm there as it is here.
Have a great week, everyone, be safe and enjoy this beautiful summer, Kelly

Happy July 4th!
Spent yesterday cooking. I made potato salad, barbecue chicken, zucchini from our garden and a tray of lasagna. We finally ordered a new sofa and took advantages of the sales at Lazy-Boy. I took down all the curtains, washed and ironed and some of them are being replaced with new ones.
I went to the gym this morning and I did a dry run of where my kids live for my bus schedule tomorrow. Looks like I have 4 kids to pick up and return in the morning. I have an additional student to pick up in the afternoon and bring home. He lives around the block from me. So I will be done with my bus run around 2:00 pm. I took one of my former students to Rutgers to start his summer program.
Looking forward to next weekend to go to the shore and do some ocean kayaking. I have wanted to do that for so many years. I hope we have great weather. This week will not bring much, I am starting to prepare for my motorcycle permit and I am doing some summer reading: Mindfulness: An 8 week plan for finding peace in a frantic world. Maybe it will give me some insight.
My husband made his hours and qualifies for retirement in December. They even asked him back to work next week so we will see how long this job last before he gets laid off again. Well at least I know he will start receiving pension checks next year.
Kelly, enjoy the shore and I how I miss boating. Our boat sits in the garage and I am hoping that he will take it out this summer. If not them maybe next year.

Hi Cindy,
Sounds like you were cooking, cleaning, and driving all weekend! That's good, everything will look nice and you're prepared! We bought a new living room set and kitchen table in January, furniture is so expensive!
I have bad news, my husband and I double booked for next Saturday so I'm backing out of the kayak group trip. I'm disappointed but we do the Sunshine Foundation Fishing Tournament for sick and terminally ill children every year (we usually win good money and prizes.) in Mystic Island. Last night my husband asked if we were staying over after the captain's meeting Friday and I reminded him of kayaking then he reminded me of the tournament (I'm being kind saying reminded, I don't remember him mentioning it.) the house still isn't in good shape from hurricane Sandy but I do think we'll spend the night. I'm so sorry I have to back out and am hoping you have a good group going. If not, we would be able to postpone a week or so if you could and we would go then. Let me know! Another option is you could come kayaking at our special place (we have the kayaks) another time at your convenience, we usually pack a lunch.
Well, gotta run, I'm at work but wanted to let you know about kayaking ASAP.
We'll talk soon, Kelly
