Hello all. I haven't posted in a while. I am now close to 7 months out from my vsg to ds. I am still dealing with my shoulder injury from work, having started physical therapy just this week. Since the injury in December I have lost very little weight and keep fluctuating between 210-214. I know my body is trying to heal my shoulder and instead of being upset about slowed weight loss, I took the plunge and started yoga and joined a gym. Something magical has happened!!! I have fallen IN LOVE with exercise! It is transforming me in every way. I feel wonderful before, during and after. My mood is lifted and my energy as dramatically increased. It is truly amazing. When I was thin, I looked at exercise as a chore and when obese, it was terribly difficult and sent me straight back to bed afterwards. I don't know what exactly has changed, but I love it. My spouse and teen daughter are quite shocked by the change. Encouraging, but shocked. I know my weight loss will start again and in the meantime, I am weighing less often. The gym has incredible hydromassage stations at no additional cost and it is 7 minutes of heaven. I may start doing it before and after my workouts instead of just after.
I just wanted to share this with everyone. I have had a great deal of challenges and received wonderful support from you all, so I want you to share my joy with you also. I truly feel I am beginning my new life after the ds.

So glad for you! Maybe part of the reason you didn't get this enjoyment before was you didn't realize how much worse it could be as an obese person (that's how it was for me) Either way, it's great to hear that you are enjoying it so much now. Wishing you many happy workouts, and that you continue to reap benefits from all the good things you are doing. Color me jealous about the hydromassage.

Enjoy the gym! I love my pilates class. I plan on joining a gravity class that focuses on pilates and gravity machine. It will be a total body workout. I feel bad when I cannot get to the gym and I try to hit at least 4 times a week. The exercise will help you build some muscle and your metabolism. I find something different. I do not sweat like I use to. Yes I sweat, but I am not a mess when I was heavier.

Love the title of your thread, and your update, YAY for you! The revision process can be a much different pace than a virgin surgery, and our beleaguered bodies have been through so much. You've also weathered a numbing amount of crises in so many areas, you are one strong, resilient lady! Discovering exercise and its actual joy is an amazing feeling. I remember well when it happened to me. Really glad you checked in, continue healing!
