It's been awhile so I thought I'd stop by and give an update. Just celebrated my 2 year surgiversary on the 3rd - what a journey it's been!
Finally feeling like my old self once again. Am able to afford vites once again with my new job and purchased health insurance for myself and got some labs drawn. Medi-cal dropped me shortly after being hospitalized (perhaps a coincidence) and so I qualified for healthcare through Covered CA (or thought I did) and bought myself Kaiser for a month and got my labs done. I am really impressed with how Kaiser does things. I showed up on a Saturday and got right in. At quest I would have been waiting a couple hours before anyone even asked for my insurance card! I have to go back for more blood because they apparently didn't use the right tube for the folic acid and B1. lol. And that night I was getting e-mailed results from some of the tests! I couldn't believe it! So much better than quest! Wish I could keep them but my work offered me insurance. I was expecting all my readings to be low but things are actually high. Vit D high, phosphorous high, iron was even normal! Yay! Only abnormal thing is liver enzymes. They were raised before I had the obstruction and are raised again so we are trying to figure out why. I don't think it has anything to do with my DS and I don't drink alcohol, take any meds besides vitamins, etc.
I am liking the new job so much better than the last. I can get up and use the restroom whenever I need to, I get a locker to put all my snacks in, I can eat at my desk and get leftover treats from the other departments. Today someone left cake so we all ran (speedwalked) to the breakroom. I couldn't help but laugh as us adults are nearly running from breakroom to breakroom trying to find the cake lol. And it was worth it - a whipped cream cake with strawberries in it! But all food aside, I enjoy the job. I was even picked to do the quality control audits and walk around and help the other data entry specialists with questions they may have. Another cool thing is the insurance I am getting put on covers plastics and is a PPO. Haven't decided on plastics or no yet. I know I need to be at a stable weight and such first. And I hate hospitals after the last experience. I'll be happy if I never go back again lol. But it's nice to know that it's there if I want it.
Relationship is stable. Now we have 3 birds. I'll see if I can attach photos. Skye (the pink one), Squirt, and a little baby I haven't named yet.
Food wise I can pretty much eat anything and not gain weight (not sure if this is normal - I am guessing not). Poop seems to be stabilizing out now - finally no more diarrhea for a week anyways. Hopefully it stays like that.
Anyhow - just wanted to check in and say hello
