I've been in maintenance for six months and I'm doing well but this was definitely the hardest part for me.

aha! well, post on peeps. I think maintenance is just normal whereas the losing part was easy peasy - but I know not everybody does. realized I spent decades thinking and worrying about eating and size and damn near distracted myself from real life. well, I'm only 50. might have some time left. I hope.

Hmm...I guess I am. I still wish I could lose 5-10 lbs in my legs, but I'm acting more like I'm in maintenance mode. So I don't know what I'm doing at the moment. Here's hoping I figure it out soon.

Thank you! that's a big question when I don't know you - you are still trying to lose? very different from maintenance. all I know to tell you is "back to basics" - TRACK everything and see where you are. probably you need to increase water and protein and cut out empty carbs. what I eat is just normal food but I am not trying to lose.

I am in maintenance - well perhaps trying to lose a few from Christmas still - but within a couple pounds of my goal! Nice to have found this board!

I am late to the partay and haven't been drinking yet, but I find it amazing that on my previous post, I have the option to block myself!
Course, first, maybe I should PM me and let me know why. Nahh!

somewheres here - MB??? - we had this discussion. if you "ignore" yourself this creates a rip in the space-time whatis. you know, like on Star Trek.
so don't do it! Data isn't here to fix it!

I think I am in maintenance. I have been between 265 and 255 for the last 6 months and any given day I can gain and lose a pound or two. I pretty much eat what I want but I notice that the amount is increasing. Is there a sleeve "reset" with the VSG like there is with the RNY?

I have been in maintenance for 7 years so you are going to have to share the hallway. I like to slide around in my socks too. LOL. Whoop Whoop!!

I found my capacity went up until I was about 18 months post op. and when it comes to some food (Ritz crackers) I can eat them all day long, sadly.

I am, I am at goal and maintaining!!! Surgery June 11, 2010. I reached MY goal in six months. Five pounds less than Dr. Davidson's goal for me. I am diligent but everything I do is my new life. As natural to me as breathing! What I'd like to ask some of you further out is, do you experience hunger, if so, when did it come back? I am still not hungry, I get an empty feeling, but not real hunger. At three years, if I am not getting hungry, is it likely that I won't start all of a sudden at a later time? Also, I can eat less than a cup of food. Are we are full capacity by three years? Do we ever stop being paranoid about regain??!!!

At three years, if I am not getting hungry, is it likely that I won't start all of a sudden at a later time? the feeling of hunger is different than before. Yes, it is like an emptiness. I eat pretty steady, every couple of hours, so I rarely let it get to that point. I am coming onto 6 years from surgery Also, I can eat less than a cup of food. Are we are full capacity by three years? I was eating close to "normal" about 18-24 months out. I eat more than most others that have not had any surgery, but it does take me a lot longer to eat it. In order to get in all of my protein and still be able to eat lots of veggies that I love, it is good to have a large stomach Do we ever stop being paranoid about regain??!!! nope - and that helps keep us on track. But really, with the DS it is pretty easy to keep the weight off

I guess I am...I hit high bmi/a good normal for me in my opinion at around 8-9 months out, then due to some complications and more surgeries ended up losing 15-20 more. I hope to gain back 10 at least and settle... We'll see how that goes!
So, can I slide around in my socks too, lol, and yell 'Woot, woot!"?
