I did it to myself. I overindulged in pizza.
Bread and wheat products are the # 1 gas provoking food for me and now my belly is bloated and swollen with gas.
This is very uncomfortable. I would like the gas to come out of me so I feel better. Any ideas on how to make this happen?
Does Gas Ex work for us?
Background info - 2.5 years post op. I eat whatever I want so I have killer stenchy gas. If I eat wheat products or processed foods I have a lot of it. I seem to be able to eat everything else with still stenchy, but manageable gas.

To a certain extent, GasX works for me (I should buy stock). I've had a few bouts of very bad gas. It will usually dissipate after a few hours. I've found that if I lay on my stomach, that seems to help me.
This happens sometimes if you overindulge. I have learned my trigger foods so I either avoid them or prepare myself.

Hi and welcome! Pizza, white flour and wheat do that to me too. So does spinach or too much dried fruit. But the worst by far is white flour and wheat. I haven't tried Gas-X since my first round at the bariatric rodeo in 2002 with my RNY. I have taken a variety of medications throughout all my surgeries, post RNY and post revision to DS - gas, anti-nausea, anti-depressant, anxiety, anti-biotics, sleep and have had no issue with absorption/working thus far. I also just deal with the gas when I eat something I know will disagree, I try to make sure I'm out of the range of others and not too far from a bathroom. I even watch what I eat when I'm flying/traveling for those reasons. I also do make/eat a lot of alternatives, though again, if I really want something, I have it. Not much of an answer, but I'd say try Gas-X and see if you get any results and try to enjoy things you like without going overboard, if possible. I just had my favorite pizza the other night for dinner, crispy thin cheese and pepperoni, individual slice. I could easily have eaten two or gotten more for 'leftovers' the next day, but instead I just keep it to the one slice, I also make cauliflower crust pizza, pizza 'casserole' for when I crave it and want to eat it more often.

Yeah, I'm a pizza nut too and every few months I forget my pain and overdo it. The way I have managed to keep things in check the last few times is to eat the toppings off the crust and only nibble the crispy outside edge of the crust. Order the thin crust. Also it helps to order some wings while you're at it. (extra blue cheese please) And some mozzarella sticks. And a beer.
I feel a trip to Salvatore's coming on.

Lay down on couch or bed on your side. It always seems to get the gas going for me.

All I could think of was Salvatore's Italian Gardens. I know you must be somewhere close to there because you know the only way to eat pizza is with some wings and extra blue cheese (and beer). I hate seeing Ranch served with blue cheese. It just isn't right! Now I miss my hometown food.

Salvatore's pizza is a local chain in the area. Ranch dressing with wings is a disgrace! Might as well just wipe our mouths on the flag while we're at it. Don't forget the celery sticks and when in the Buffalo area stop at The Anchor Bar for wings. And Schwebel's for Beef on Weck. Heavy on the Beef. Light on the Weck. A bit of horseradish too. And let's chase it down with white hots. Zweigel's that is. I'm hungry now.
