I haven't seen this in any of the colonoscopy threads.
I'm being told to stop vitamin E, multi, and iron 5 days before.
Did any one else have to do this? I understand the vitamin E, and by extension the multi but wonder about the iron.
I just had my labs and most things look good so 5 days won't tank any of those but it did make me wonder.

Never heard of stopping iron. I understand the multi because of what's in it (E & K). I wonder what the reasoning is.

Pete Google it. Lots of info.

I learned after the post that it probably has to do with iron changing the color of the feces in your bowel and googled some issues about making it thicker. It didn't occur to me originally because I thought I would be all flushed out by that time.

I had to stop iron about a week early.

I'm having a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy in early December and I have to stop all iron-containing vits 5 days before. He never mentioned Vit E. What is your prep? He asked my preference (can you believe it?) and I opted for polyethylene glycol in 64 oz of clear liquids. Hope I won't be sorry!

I'm not sure exactly what is in the Go-Lytely mixture but that sounds right. Mine mixed up to 64 oz. I was pretty worried about drinking everything bit I got it all in. Good luck - it'l be fine.

Hi Pete, glad you go some feedback already, just wanted to also check and make sure everything is ok for you, is the colonoscopy a routine check up?
