Everyday after my first 2 sets of vits I end up with ringing in my ears. Everything seems so loud! It's the weirdest things and it absolutely aggravates me to no end. It sort of feels like I'm under water with all sounds amplified at the same time. Oh how it effects my mood! The kids seem so loud like everyone is yelling constantly. Any ideas? Anyone else had this?

I wouldn't call what I have as ringing in my ears, but every once in a while my ears will "switch" and will act like I have water in my ears. It will go in and out during a conversation and is quite annoying and distracting. I noticed in the first year after my surgery, my ears would be a little sore at times when I slept as well (I sleep on my side). It has improved at night, but I still have that water switching thing going on. I will say its frequency has declined.
My vision actually improved as well, which really surprised my eye doctor.
My unmedical, not-backed-by-any-study opinion, is that fat deposits have become smaller, every where in my body. My face is smaller. It makes sense to me that it could affect my hearing and vision. I don't think its vitamin related, but could have more to do with sleeping/getting up in the morning. The good news is that for me, it has improved since the first year. Hang in there!

Holy cow Misty that sounds awful! Have you tried taking the vitamins with food? Have you asked your doctor about this? That would drive me insane.

I see Dr Elariny on the 22nd for my 3 month follow-up so I'll talk to him then. It is very annoying to me and the family. I'm constantly telling them to be quiet. I do take my vits with my protein shakes otherwise they bother my stomach. My appetite still hasn't returned. I'm eating but my quantities are still really small and generally I like the idea of food much more than the actual eating of it. Protein shakes are still my main source of nutrition. I'm praying this is short lived. Feeling like everyday is spent at a Rock concert with the amplification is getting old quick!

Fullhousemom, thank you for chiming in. It helps to know that I'm not the only one (at least yours is similar) and that it passes or at least comes in waves. I'm hoping it's a fluke and will quickly just be in the past.
I've always been "sensitive" and my husband affectionately calls me Princess and the Pea. Early in our marriage I woke him in the middle of the night and asked him if he could hear that loud noise? He did not but dutifully got up and looked around and opened the bedroom window to see if he heard anything outside. After the window opened I told him it was louder. He said he then heard it and it sounded like one of the planes about 50 miles away. Sure enough, it quickly passed and we went back to sleep. I've also woke due to a slow dripping faucet on the other side of the house.
Just recalling and writing this makes me thankful that he is so patient with me!

That is too funny, Misty! I have woken my husband up at night because I've heard things too, and I'm always right! Maybe we unfortunately, have sensiitive ears! I have always attributed it to a maternal instinct. I will be the one to save the family from a fire because he can sleep through anything. I always heard the kids up at night, or the cats fighting outside. Gosh, I wish I could rest as peacefully as my husband can......

Agreed! Sadly, I don't really feel bad about waking him up because he falls back to sleep so fast and half the time doesn't even remember me waking him. I am sleeping better though now that I've got some weight off but I am sure I will never get his kind of rest.

Must be a woman/mom thing. Or maybe we all sleep with the same guy? I would be so well-rested if I could just sleep like my husband for one week!

I did look at vit deficiencies that could cause it but my 3 month labs came back this week and no deficiencies in areas that could cause tinnitus. Thanks for the suggestion.

I know I have Tinnitus.. Had it for YEARS before my DS.. I just run a fan in my bedroom, the noise from it drowns out the ringing, and I sleep like a baby. I also have very good hearing, even after working in a very noisy production shop for 6 years. (we got hearing tests every year, mine stayed the same or IMPROVED year over year. My kids cannot believe the things I can hear and recognize sometimes. A quiet room is bothersome to me, as my head starts concentrating on the silence, and the ringing takes over. I still hear just fine through the ringing.
