Hi everyone, Wanted to share these chips I found at Target today. I very rarely eat chips however I thought I might try these. Had a few tonight and they are pretty good. Never heard of any chips with 8 grams of protein per serving, which is 20 chips. Check it out...they have barbecue, sea salt and cheddar. www.simply7snacks.com/quinoa-chips-barbeque/Everything in moderation... remembering protein first!

Interesting - may have to try these - the sea salt and cheddar have 9 g of protein and only 12 carbs. Will have to see how they affect my tummy, because like everything else with the DS, YMMV! Good find, Michele!

These look great! Quinoa has been popping up in chips, pasta and crackers now. I've noticed in the last year or so that both Target and Walmart carry a really good line of alternative gluten crackers and other food items. And of course, there is Trader Joes. I have posted SO many times about the soy flaxseed tortilla chips (also have protein) that people probably think I have stock in the company. I'm eating a late mini-meal dinner now, tuna salad with celery and sunflower seeds, mixed greens and mini edamame crackers (also from Trader Joes) Right, the trick is to not eat the whole bag/box but have a handful with my tuna? hummus? Love it. And fits right into my overall ticker tally I keep running in my head for the day

I haven't tried any of these but I always look at the carb count first and then the protein. That's just how I roll. I just don't believe in eating too many carbs no matter how heathy the item is...I know protein first, but it is a balance.

FYI, i just noticed this is on the DS data board, you should post on the actual DS board, not wrong to do it here, but not the best fit.

Ok...now I see this is posted on the DS studies and articles. How in the world did I post it on there! Oh, no worries, it's easy enough to do in one click PM goodkel and she can move this whole thread for you. Going forward, just put the cursor on the white Weight Loss Surgery tab, you'll get a drop down menu, one says Bariatric Forums, when you go to that then you'll see a list of all the surgery boards. Thanks for the nice comments I'm pretty shocked equally I think to be repaired inside and out. The difference from the new abdominal wall, more hernias, distention, besides having no skin sitting on my lap is WOW. I want to tell everyone who ever develops a hernia in the abdominal area to get the component separation to prevent more in the future!

Those chips sound awfully good to me too...but too many carbs for me at this point. Like bboop, I look at the carbs first. Maybe someday...

If anyone is interested in chips, I occasionally eat some of the Trader Joes Flax Seed chips if I have hummus or chicken salad to consume and need something.
They have about 9 net carbs / 6 g protein per 7 tortilla chips.

I am going to do a turkey chili this week for lunch and a handful will be nice. But you do have to be careful as there are only 7 in one serving! Cindy

I went to Trader Joes and bought the spicy so flaxseed chips! They were yummy. I am going to do a turkey chili this week for lunch and a handful will be nice. But you do have to be careful as there are only 7 in one serving! Cindy Ya, these soy flaxseed chips are SO good! And I found in my first year, they became my go to vehicle for many things, and, 6-7 chips were very satisfying with food, like a chili, taco salad. I make fast nachos all the time, and same, one serving piled with shredded cheese, some guac and salsa is hugely filling and satisfying. The chips are more dense than regular tortilla chips, so I find I don't need as many of them. Of course now, I can eat a lot more, but still, that serving size with protein and fats really fills me, and I find myself very easily able to stop. Now, the warm homemade flour tortilla chips that most mexican restaurants offer, is another story, I so gotta watch those, they are thin, I can eat more and the white flour kills me, even with all the protein and fat on 'em.
