Has anyone done this? I was reading I breathe I'm hungry board and she talks about this diet. Wedding in a couple of weeks and would like to drop some weight before then. Sounds like quick weight loss due to very low carb but very quick weight gain if not careful when off the diet.

Ditto. Just eliminate simple carbs, moderate your complex carbs, and focus on protein and fluids. You will lose weight.

That stuff doesn't apply to us.
I agree with the others, just go ultra low carb for a few days, and you'll lose. Go back to what you usually eat after the wedding and you'll probably settle back where you are. I dont think going low carb for a week or two and then going back to your normal habits will make you gain beyond where you started.

Yup. Go back to the basics, less than 50 grams of carbs of any kind, plenty (100 grams or more daily) of protein, all your vitamins, and plenty of water.
You will lose weight.
DSers don't diet. Eat whenever you are hungry and as much as you need to feel full.

Hi Terry, just wanted to chime in, hello, welcome! I'm a Dr. K RNY to DS revision patient too! I live in LA 20 minutes from the Glendale/Verdugo location. I will also chime in with the chorus - don't diet, you don't need to! Tweak the DS eating as mentioned - go lower carb and, EAT more protein. Do you know what your average daily grams are? If you don't, it's good to give yourself a 'brush-up'. You should be getting in 120g and more is always better. Animal protein (the yummy variety of meats in so many forms) is best for us, stimulates that metabolic reset the DS gave us (what the RNY couldn't do). Enjoy some fat too!

I just went on the recipe site and got some great recipes. I haven't tracked my carbs in quite some time. Nothing like the present. I bet it will be high. Start keeping track of everything I eat starting tomorrow. Thank you for the help.

Start keeping track of everything I eat starting tomorrow. Thank you for the help. Exactly! "Back to basics" It's easy to get complacent, and that's not a terrible thing, hopefully eating becomes more second nature. But we do have to watch for the creep, nip it in the bud, and usually it's carbs. We use a 50g guideline in the losing phase, so that's an ok number to use for losing - if you are exercising regularly go a little higher cuz you need good complex carbs for cardio burning. And yep, 120g minimum for protein. Stay in touch here too, it helps. There's a Weekly Weigh In & Whatever Else thread on Sundays, on the Main Board, its not just about scale number, but talking about wherever we are in the weight loss/management process, NSVs, struggles, challenges, etc. Glad you found the recipe board, yes, tons of great things on there!

The purpose of an egg fast is similar to a fat fast--get you into ketosis and losing as quickly as possible. It can be a very valuable tool if you feel you need that level of structure. It's easy to say "go back to the basics" but the implementation isn't as easy as it sounds. A fat fast/egg fast is a way to jumpstart your losses, get over the junk cravings, and get on track. You can then transition to a 'back to basics' type of eating. The egg fast has been very helpful for a lot of people who are struggling to get back on track.
