Well hello! Its been awhile... between my finals and graduations for both my son and I, followed by a trip to Europe, Ive been busy! I'm very happy with my progress and what it has given me. There is no way at all I could have handled 5 countries and all those stairs and all the walking through 5 countries in 17 days, a year ago. Ive amazed myself and those that love me. If you are just starting out and have your doubts, you can do this. Its no easy road and it is a momentous task but the rewards are so worth the journey. 8 I took nothing for granted... just being able to fit on the planes and handle the physical conquest... I feel accomplished and thankful! I hope all is well for those that began the journey when I did! God bless everyone, Karen

Oh dear I suppose I should have shrunk the pics.... I don't need to see my 48 year old self in jumbotron! I do have a hair question... does the thinning stop and does it ever thicken back up??

Mine never has, but remember I'm old...almost 69. I think mine is related to my dad and it's just going to be thin almost bald on top. Most people say they regain their hair at about 6 to 8 months. Take biotin it helps. If it doesn't come back see a dermatologist, they may be able to help you.
You look lovely and I envy your trip to Europe. I wanna go so badly.

Great to see you and congrats on your graduation, what a fantastic gift to yourself to take a European excursion and be able to enjoy it so fully!
I'm 53 now, and my hair has thinned a lot. I know it doesn't seem that way in the photo, but really, I've lost probably nearly half, fortunately I had a lot to begin with, I have some breakage and thin spots...and I've lost my eyebrows! Now some of this was due to iron deficiency/anemia, and I don't know if it would have improved had I gotten more aggressive sooner with infusions and better oral iron (Had my RNY at 40, DS revision at 50) Mine hasn't grown back, but same, I'm also older. For many it seems to thin for awhile than stop and hold where it's at, some regrowth.

The hair situation really varies from person to person....I'm afraid you'll just have to wait and see how yours does...
