I always got that feeling from water. I literally lived off of decaf coffee, sf popsicles, and protein shakes until I could handle full strength Diet Coke again. Do as I say about water, not what I do. LOL! Seriously, if water gives you problems, try something else. Water is obviously best, but anything without sugar will do especially if it helps you get in more fluids. It is great that you feel ready to start iron. If I'm forgetting something, please refresh my memory. Is there a reason why you are starting with iron? Iron can be tough on your stomach and without twice a day doses of magnesium oxide, the painful bricks it makes will consistently clog my toilet. B-12, dry A, dry D3, and dry K2 are all easy to take. Calcium can be dropped into your water. It will dissolve and you will get it with every sip. Calcium will firm things up, but in my experience no where near as much as iron, unless you are taking heme. Congratulations! You are obviously progressing nicely.

I'm all good with water. I have been drinking smart water only. I think that has saved my ass sice I was having so much trouble swallowing in the beginning I was getting the bate min of fluids in an did not end up in the hospital. It sits just fine and I can now take normal swallows. Any soft foods do too, other foods not so much. Had a poached egg yesterday and I can do without that feeling. Can't wait till it feels normal.
No reason on the iron. Well I am feeling weak and tired all the time. Normal I know. I want to get back to normal so I thought the B and iron best promoted that. So maybe start with my calcium citrates? I don't really care what I start so much, just want to do what I can.

No amount of iron or anything is going to change that. Only rest and time will fix that at your stage. If you are going to try to swallow your calcium, go with the Citrical Petites. They are the smallest calcium pills you are going to find. But, as I mentioned above, the Dry vitamins A, D3, and K2 are all very small capsules and easy to take. For swallowing, I would start there.

Iron also needs Vitamin C. Suggest starting with something else besides the iron. As Kelly said, iron is hard. Start with some of the little ones - K, D, A. You're not tired because your iron is low. You're tired because you had MAJOR SURGERY two weeks ago (only yelling a little ). Please please please stop expecting things to get back to "normal". You will discover that your "normal" will never be the same again. It's just a new normal. Usually the third week post-op is a turning point. You're starting to eat food - you'll slowly get your strength and energy back. Your bowels will start waking up (another wink). New normal.

Ok I will pick up some A D and K and start taking those this week. Ok ok!!! No old only new normal! And a minute away from that too I know it will all fall into place over the next year. I'm super excited. I think the candy did it because I have been three times already this morn. Nothing explosive thankfully. Will be happy to eat and not feel like I've got a rock in my stomach. I can live without that feeling. For now I'll stick to my mushy stuff. Going for a short walk in a bit. Looking for a good number to report tomorrow

They are not easily found in the stores. I've never seen them anyway. Looked in Walmart, CVS, Rite-Aid, Walgreens. Nada. Maybe a Vitamin Shoppe, GNC, or Costco might carry them, I don't know. And A, D, and K2 must be dry or you'll be flushing most of them away with the other 80% of your ingested fat.

If you're looking for dry vitamins from a store (not Vitalady or online) check out Whole Foods. They may be a little expensive but I've found they have a decent selection of certain dry vitamins. I've also got a great local market called Mom's Organic. They are a local chain and have a great vitamin section with alot of dry vitamins.

Yes, Vitalady is your safest bet to be sure to get the formulations and dosages that you need, but Amy wrote of picking them up and starting them this week. She's a little antsy, that one.

Good luck finding Dry D3 vite A and Vite E, and K in megadose pills in the stores.. GNC maybe, Vitamin shoppe, maybe. I order mine, better prices anyhow.. 2, Three times in the morning may become a 'new' normal.. I'm at least a two-timer.. 3. the 'rock in stomach feeling will go away eventually, there is just still some swelling down there. Chew ALL foods until there is nothing left to chew, and take smaller bites. It does make a difference in how it goes down.

Where do you order your vites from?
Working on the smaller bites today. More than anything I want a big swig of water so bad!

Amy - I only suggested Whole Foods as they are a good place to pick up emergency doses. I get almost everything from Vitalady.

I get my vites from multiple sources, Amazon, vitacost, walmart (calcium, zinc, Magnesium), usually where I can find the best price. My vites cost me 1.25 a day. I don't have Iron, though. Hasn't been needed so far.

Hasn't been needed so far. That's what I do too - certain vitamins like multi, calcium citrate, magnesium, Bcomplex easy to purchase at 'regular' stores and I've been getting some good prices now at CVS with their regular vitamin sales and preferred customer card discounts. But the dry versions of what we need, iron, D3, A, K for example, very hard to find, or basically impossible without special ordering. I think the highest D3 I found was at an independent health store near where my surgeon's hospital is, they were sublingual 10,000. I'd have to take 10 a day of those. I get my Proferrin (heme iron) from Colorado Labs, and the rest from Vitalady. Her prices are decent, and personally, I like to support a small business owner whenever possible, I do that in all areas of my shopping needs as well. And with Michelle/Vitalady, I have a special soft spot, because for many years, she was one of maybe like, two WLS/bariatric resources around. She has put a huge amount of time and effort into educating and packaging to make the supplement process go smoothly. Now the landscape is very different, more sources and options to purchase items (which is a good thing for the bariatric world) and yes, she carries items easily purchased at stores. But for the high volume dosages of dry vitamins we need, Vitalady really is tops. AMY. You only need at this point a multi and calcium citrate and can ease into the rest of the regimen. In the time you posted this from today, your order from Vitlady would have arrived already, shipping usually takes just a few days
