Yet another blip in my journey: I wake up with my world spinning and remain dizzy and lightheaded for most of the day! This happened yesterday and it scared me. I called the doc's office and they told me to drink more (I get more than 64oz/day). I took my blood pressure- 121/66 and 128/60. I am getting all of my vitamins in. I ate about 35 grams of protein the day before.
Unfortunately, I woke up dizzy as a loon again today. Any ideas what it may be and what I can do about it? I was not expecting this! I'm afraid of falling.
Thanks!

This happened to me about two weeks after surgery and i was dehydrated. at the time i was getting 64 ounces of water in but still ended up getting to bags of fluids and some potassium at the ER. The ER doc said that sometimes it happens after major surgery even if you are drinking your fluids. They also told me to drink some G2 gatorade and not just water all day. Good luck i hope it gets better for you

Your bp looks fine, how bout any other meds you may be taking? You may need some tweaking as you lose weight.

Try drinking unsweetened coconut water. Lots of electrolytes and potassium.

I'm already drinking G2. I'll try the Coconut Water. They took me off my BP meds right after surgery so that can't be it. Thanks for weighing in... I don't know if I can drink more! There's not enough room! I'll try, though! Thanks, all!

Unfortunately if you're already dehydrated you can't consume enough water to make up. You may need a trip to the ER for IV fluids.

I suspect you are dehydrated. Increase your fluids - you HAVE to. Or else you are going to be looking at a trip to the ER, IV fluids, hospital admission, etc.
If your hydration increases and you're still this dizzy…you need to be seen.
You need to literally be drinking constantly. I mean constantly. Do not put the glass down.
ETA: just saw jpcello's post. Yes -if in fact you are already beyond a certain point of dehydration, only IV fluids will help.
If you're still dizzy after increased fluids, in 24 hours…..go to the ER.

What NYB said, have to be in constant sipping motion from when you get up until you go to bed. It WILL get better, easier, and you'll be doing nice big swallows and gulps, but for now, sip sip sip. And please go get checked out if you're really dizzy, I think dehydration too!

Wow- at least I am not alone. Thanks everyone and thanks Diane for letting me know this happened to you, too! Unfortunately I spent the day in the ER with my daughter instead of myself. She broke her foot. Now I am really behind for water today...and vitamins. DAMMIT! I have to learn to be prepared. I feel like doo-doo!

Oh my! So sorry to hear about your daughter! Praying everything is on the mend now for you both. That's no fun before summer - or anytime - to deal with!

Sorry about your daughter.
Suggest you buy a case (or 6 pack at least) of bottled water and keep it in your car. You should NEVER be without a bottle of water in your hand. You can't afford to go without drinking for hours at a time.

You can buy bottled water from machines or the cafe in the hospital. Nurses will also bring you a cup. On the road, every convenience store carries bottled water. There really is no excuse for not always having water in your hand. Missing a partial day's worth of vitamins is no big deal. You can pick up where you left off. Becoming too dehydrated can land you in the hospital for days, unable to care for your daughter.

I feel a lot better. I guess I have to drink constantly and I guess I need more than 64oz. to feel good. Now I know. I stocked the car and I have been taking a water bottle EVERYWHERE. Thanks for the suggestions!
