Butterfly,
That is so odd about the protein making you sick. Wonder what the hell it is.
I heard someone else say they were craving pickles. I wonder if it's a sodium thing? I have been craving Salt like crazy.
My goal for this week is to up my protein and take walks a few times a day. I took a mile walk this morn already. And I have a pork roast thawing for tomorrow. Have no idea what I'll do with it. Thinking roast and carnitas with the leftovers. I should be able to mash that up enough.
This feeling of swallowing rocks is making me not want to eat or drink at all
Pork roast how big of one?
I take 4-5lb tenderloin roast, crock pot it for 7 hours on high covered in water up to just barely NOT covering the top. (salted and peppered). when done to fork tender, drain the water, scrape the thick fat off of it. and pull it apart, (pulled pork!) Mix with 5-6 oz of BBQ sauce, and STIR, MASH, MIX alot unitl all the rest of the chunks break up and become more like a paste. May take more bbq sauce but you should never have so much in there that it swims in it. it should stick together and kinda lump together in the center of the crock pot.. Pink in color, but never close to the BBQ sauce color.
I make this, family loves it, making one this week. Great protein, a little sugar, but not a ton. eat it plain with a fork! Family can always add more BBQ sauce to their sandwich, instead of add in it all in the meat. Very moist, plenty of fat still, few carbs, TASTES GREAT!!
I take my bowl and melt american cheese over it, and mix that all together. adds more protein..
edit: one afterthought, make sure you turn off the crock pot after you drain the meat. It will dry out REAL fast if you keep the heat on, and will burn the BBQ sauce quickly. Leftovers are great the next day if you get them into a tupperware container quickly after dinner. Make sure to put the lid on the crock between helpings.
