To avoid confusion, I have created aboard for discussion of this new surgery.
I will be moving all SADI threads to this board.
To be clear:
It is NOT a DS, it is not a new version of the DS. It is a different surgery.
I am not yet up to full speed on it, I haven't finished reading the studies about it posted in the Studies and Articles section by the marvelous Michellemj, but the fact that it is not a DS is obvious.
Joanne posted an easy to understand description of it and its difference from the DS, which I am copying here:

Hi there
With the SADI you really dont have a separate common channel and alimentary limb. Your 220cm is your full common channel, which with the SADI is the same as the alimentary limb.
Think of it this way.
Stand up and raise your arms like you're doing YMCA. Be the "Y". Your whole body is your intestines in this example.
This is the DS:
Your right arm is your alimentary limb. It carries food from your stomach.
Your left arm is your bileo-pancreatic limb. It carries digestive enzymes but no food.
Your body and legs below your arms are your common channel where the two meet.
This is the SADI
Put your arms down.
Your whole body is your intestines
Picture your torso separated around your chest
Above your chest is a blind loop of intestines. It's bypassed and has- no food contact
Below your chest is your combined common channel and alimentary limb - it's one in the same
SADI stands for Single Anastomosis because it's not Y shaped like the DS.
