I was freaking out a lot yesterday, but today I feel calmer. I remembered that I'm actually prepared for this, so it's all good now. Lol!
Thank you all for the well wishes and the help I have received thus far!
P.S. Does anybody know how many of the Kirkland's chewables you need to take to make 200% of daily value? I didn't know if it was different because it was labelled as kid's. Vitalady's label information pages are showing up really wonky in my browser for some reason.

I'm glad that your mom will be with you and that you don't have to spend New Year's Eve in the hospital. Good luck to you. Hope everything goes very well.

I'm feeling a little frazzled today. I found out my potassium is a little low at 3.3 so my surgeon's nurse called in a script for that and I'm drinking some apple juice. I start clear liquids tomorrow AM and have a date with a bottle of Magnesium Citrate. (Oh boy!) Nothing by mouth after midnight tomorrow night and then... Well, you know. This is all happening so fast now, and I find myself thinking silly things like: "Gee, I hope this isn't the last time I get to cuddle my dog." She knows something is up, I swear it. She always does! But then I come back down to Earth and chill out... I have full confidence in my surgeon and it's all gonna be a-okay. -deep breath- I still need to go buy a new set of sheets, a protein shaker bottle and some 2 oz. plastic cups. Off to Wal-mart, I go!

I'll for sure send some positive energy your way for a set date and smooth sailing. Patience was never my strong suit either, though. Lol! Santa's gonna bring you some new anatomy this year! At least you'll never forget your surgiversary.

I'm alive. In pain and nauseous, but alive. Surgery went beautifully, Doc said. More scar tissue than originally thought, 4 mm thick almost closing off the top of my stomach, so lots of pain there straight through to my back. Was in surgery for 6 hours, had a really difficult time last night getting my pain under control. Feeling better today, as in like I was hit by a mack truck instead of an airplane. Been walking 5 times, belching but no pooting. Catheter removed today and I can pee on my own. Anyone else throw up lots of 'old blood'? It's pretty icky and that's the one thing (besides the pain) that I wasn't prepared for. I'm next door to a fellow DSer though... I'm not sure if she's here or on Fbook (Hi Amy, just in case!!) Thanks for being supportive, y'all, will update later when I'm feeling closer to human. <3

Glad you are on the other side and doing well (as well as expected anyhow - sorry about the pain!).
Yes, I had a lot of old blood that I was throwing up for about 2 days here and there. It was yucky - looked a lot like coffee grounds or something. It's normal as long as it is not fresh and red. Especially normal for us bandsters. Those suckers are hard to get out and there was probably some extra bleeding I'm sure further up as opposed to just your lower stomach due to the placement of our bands, so that old blood has to get out somehow. Try not to let it freak you out.
Get some rest and hydrate. THANK YOU for coming on here to update us! xoxo

Congrats Katie! I had the same thing the day after surgery, throwing up what they said was blood from the surgery remaining in the stomach. It was gross and freaked me the fuck out, but they kept checking to make sure it wasn't red and said it was fine. It also came with horrible reflux so they gave me a combo of Prevacid for the reflux and reglan to move things along the digestive tract, and it helped greatly.

Congrats Katie. Keep walking, sipping, sleeping, start over. It worked for me. I was so gracious when they took that catheter out of me. I did not throw up blood, but that does not mean it is not expected. I am blessed you are doing well. Keep us posted.
