WOW. In that case, like I said, it's a whole other topic. Not a polite one, either. This is exactly the type of person who gives our surgery type a bad name. Most of us go out of our way to avoid smelling bad, precisely because we are aware that we have that side effect. But to purposely eat foods in excess that you KNOW cause you to reek (and make everything around you reek) is irresponsible as well as just plain stupid. In that case, you are going to get exactly what you deserve. There's no TIVO-ing of the offensive food, because you're eating it in excess constantly. I feel bad for everyone around you. Sooner or later people are going to start avoiding you due to odor. This post should serve as a warning to newbies. Does the smell come from your body or is it because of gas that you let out and does not want to leave that stinks?

I'd recommend a waterproof cover that I found on Amazon called Luna something...? You can't tell it's waterproof, it's not too hot either and it'll protect your mattress from fart or other unexpected odors or stain. :/

I haven't noticed that but I do know if I don't want to stink I don't eat simple carby foods but I am a frail human with a hardcore sugar addiction and sh$% happens and so does farts...and when I say sh$% happens I mean it has twice and thankfully I had a foam pad on my bed, sadly it was an expensive loss as it was mid winter and I couldn't hose off a king size 2 inch thick pad. Now I am more careful (let's be honest it was a booze and chocolate easter bash and I had way too much of both...before that it was the flu) I have a Thick comforter under my sheets, it can be washed and adds padding so every 3-4 weeks it goes in the wash or at least the dryer. I use homemade fabric refresher 2 parts water to 1 part vinegar and 1 part fabric softener and essential oil, I spray it on pretty well then toss it in the dryer on low and adjust it a few times over 30 mins til it is fresh

Use Devrom, it's a fecal deodorant; removes odor but not the generation of gas. You might need to eliminate carbs or sugar alcohols.

hello,
just a quick update: the farting has reduced a lot: found out I was lactose intolerant. I've stopped drinking milk with my protein shakes, I have soy milk instead with my soy protein powder - I still take cheese, butter and yogurt.
had my bloods done last week - all normal - except vit d was low (was feeling weak and sweating - feeling down..). Feel much better - had a vit d shot (injection). Found some crisps (chips) that have 21g of protein per pack and 5 g carb.
Looking to get plastic surgery - but have been told that I need to lose 8 more kg.
thanks:)

You need to lose all your weight and then wait at least a year with stable weight before plastic surgery.

Vit D - yes, I take it every day. However, my last blood test showed levels to be too high. So I reduced it. now, I have increased it a bit more.
Yes, I have lactose free milk - mostly soy milk - or almond milk. I don't drink milk that much - only with my protein shakes.
I've been the same weight for the past 2 years now. Docs want me to go down to 90kg (198 pounds) for my plastics, currently I am 98kg (216 pounds). Highest weight was 165kg (363 pounds): i thought I had lost all the weight I could with this surgery.
iron level is within the range - but on the low end - have increased the dosage a little.

BMI is 34.8
I'll look out for lactose free milk here in England.
Carbs - I would say medium. I eat mostly veggies, soy bread, soup... quinoa, tofu, veg soya meat. I eat potatoes 3 times a week. And I also have vegetable curries and lentils twice a week. Have stopped eating normal bread and pasta (as i don't like it either).

You are obviously not eating what you need to in order to get down to a healthier weight. I warned you many times. Your carb intake is excessive. Stop the potatoes, for example. Reduce the lentils, quinoa, etc. DSers must eat low carb to maintain and very low carb to lose. Keep a food log of everything you eat and post it here every day. You should be eating protein and vegetables and very few carbs. Veggies, tofu, tempeh, nuts.. Very little additional carbs. You need to be accurately logging your food so you can make sure you are under 50g per day carbs and 150g protein. How is your ferritin level? How about PTH?

Your BMI is 34.8. You are still significantly overweight. You need to lose more weight and keep your lower weight stable before you even think about plastics. It seems that you have not been eating a DS friendly diet. You need to reduce your carbs, keep a log, and then keep that up for a long time. You don't yet understand what it means to be a successful long term DSer, what your dietary requirements are, what it takes to lose and maintain weight as a DSer....you are far, far away from the point where you can honestly say you have lost all the weight you can lose, your healthiest attainable weight is stable for a year, and all your labs are under control and stable. That is what you need to focus on - losing weight, then maintaining, and keeping all of your labs in range and stable for a long time. Then and only then will it be time to consider plastics. You are a long way off. How can you say you thought you lost all the weight you could lose with the DS, when you haven't even eaten a low carb DS friendly diet? Please post all of your food here. And you need to be logging it into something like FitDay or MyFitnessPal, not your diary. You need carb and protein counts, every day.

I have to say this - you didn't understand/know that you have to eat very low carb as a DSer? That you have to keep track of your carb and protein grams? I mean how many times have we had these conversation? It took you two years to figure out you're lactose intolerant? Haven't you read this board - don't you know that many, many DSers become lactose intolerant?

You've lost 70% of your excess weight which is a success by any standard. But, if you had been strict with the carbs, you could have lost more. And you can lose more now. Your DS is still working. High protein, low carb will still get the weight off of you. It won't be nearly as fast as it was two years ago, but it will come. Losing 31 pounds will move you out of obesity and into the upper end of being just overweight. The closer you can get to that, the healthier it will be for you. I have not heard of body contouring at your BMI. But, if you have a large panni, getting it removed can help you be more active which will help with the weight loss. It will also take at least a few pounds off of your body. Even when you do get down to 198, I would hold off on the body contouring until you see just how far eating correctly will take you. I am eight years out from surgery and I've lost ten pounds since March just by cutting one carb out of my diet. You can do this.

If this is the D3 you are taking, it is not a dry formulary which you require since your body malabsorbs fat. D is a fat soluble vitamin (along with A, E, and K) and you will malabsorb 80% of it that you ingest. Superior Source, D3, Extra Strength, MicroLingual, 10,000 IU, Have you tried finding Bio-Tech D3 on your side of the water? It comes in 50,000iu per pill. On the vitamin D: it would take 50 of your capsule of choice to equal 1 of the biotech brand. That's a lot of capsules. (I take 2 biotech capsules, for 100,000 units per day)
Since the "vegetarian" thing is about the makeup of the shell, how about buying the real thing then opening the capsule and taking the contents only?
