PLEASE slow down your diet before you get yourself in trouble. At 3 weeks out, I was eating greek yogurt, soft cheeses, tuna salad (pureed) in TONS of mayo, refried beans etc. I cannot even imagine eating nuts, grilled cheese, etc.
Your stomach just got cut in half and then stapled back together, your intestines were also cut. You must baby them until you heal. Slow down your diet and focus on getting in soft forms of protein and CHEW CHEW CHEW until it's paste in your mouth.

Hi Bekka, checking to see how you're doing now. The advice here about advancing your diet too soon, surgeons not necessarily knowing much about the diet (I was blessed with Dr. Keshishian, he's one of the rare ones). It is very likely the culprit of the vomiting. If it isn't, if you switched things up and still vomited, hopefully you got yourself to the doc/ER immediately. People speak firmly here beause they care.
Basically this early post-op time is about healing more than anything else - I lived on about five things for weeks - protein shakes, cottage cheese, soup, eggs, peanutbutter. You might feel 'ok' on the outside but your insides have been given a good overhaul and need plenty of time to heal. Think of it like being an infant, where you go from liquids, soft foods eventually to becoming a toddler, teenager and adult in re-incorporating more solid, dense foods.
It's a process, but how it is now is not a reflection on post-op life, the first 12 weeks are more about healing than anything else, and then reintegrating. Let us know how you're doing.
