I have an antipathy for posting daily food and vitamin logs that harkens back to my eons of dieting bullshit. However, even an obsessive maniac like me can develop a FTS attitude about protein and supplements once in a while. Sometimes French toast is just a lot more interesting than bacon and eggs. Furthermore, I have observed slacking in people I care about here. This is unacceptable to obsessive maniacs like me. I develop a complex when I think about people developing malnutrition by being stupid. Not only will I be thoroughly pissed when you get dead, I will be even MORE pissed when you screw up the good DS statistics by getting dead. Hence: THE Accountability Thread. You know who you are. Start posting RIGHT NOW and avoid pissing off the evil awful EN:

Guilty as charged!
Today I got in 90 grams of protein (4 sausages, 3 cheeseburger sliders, lots of cheddar and american cheese, lots of salami, a coupe of pretzels and a protein shake-have to force it down) and also got in my vites (Vitalady's DS prepacked). Thanks for kicking my ass back into order!

I am behind on the protein today, only at 80 grams with supper. This means a supplement before bed. BLECH. And this in the land of DS heaven. Hrumph. My supper concoction is marvelous, though: breakfast sausage casserole with yummy locally made sausage, farm fresh eggs, heavy cream and lots of shredded cheese, with about a third of a cup of Bisquick to hold it together. *burp* Side dish is sauteed baby kale .

Shit.....yes Mam!
It is still fucking early but already I have had x2 bits of wholemeal whole grain bread slathered in 3 pats of butter, half a can of tuna with chili and a diet hot chocolate drink made with sweetner and rice milk. )ok could lose the bread but today I WANTED BREAD Goddamit!
Got in allllllll my meds thus far (but did not take my calcium or iron yesterday cause I left it in my room....and I feel GUILT).
It is steak for lunch with some greens cause every fucking thing I eat is brown!
Dinner will be fish and prawns in a white sauce and some more greens. I plan on having ham and cheese rollups for dessert.
I also need to drink at least 2lts of WATEr today rather than cordial.
Dont hurt me.

Today is my day for not wanting to see another damn egg for breakfast. I'm undecided as to what to eat though, maybe I'll go out for breakfast and see if something appeals to me.
I keep a log for the Nut about a week before I go to see her and I'm averaging about 125-150 grams of protein each day.

So at 5 weeks out I am getting in 90 grams of protein. I have just gotten to the point of getting all my vites in. Yesterday I got all my vites in and so far today so good. I just have my iron left to take tonight.

Good MEAT day today . Greek yogurt with seeds and nuts for first breakfast, bacon for second breakfast, jerky for snack, Baja Fresh shrimp tacos for lunch, about half a pound of barbecue pork yummies for supper, and about to have cheese and crackers before bed. And OMG WHAT A WONDERFUL BEER with that barbecue, a locally brewed chocolate porter YUMYUMYUM.

Had some eggs this a.m. Just had a Jummy Dean's Ham, Egg & Cheese Muffin, threw away half of the muffin: I know, I know, shouldn't have the muffin part. Got in my morning vites.I have been craving carbs the past few days, which is weird because I don't normally crave anything. My period was a week late so maybe that has kicked the cravings into high gear? Thanks for posting this thread EN. Don't hate me!

Here's the deal: You may have something carby AFTER you have consumed a minimum of 25 grams of protein at that sitting. Make that happen and you will be doing fabulous things with your protein consumption. You'll also work wonders on the effing carb cravings, cuz you don't have the luxury of wasting valuable eating energy on anything but protein right now. I know this is miserable hardass stuff, but you're in a place where DAMAGE is being done and something horrible could happen at any time.

I continue eating large amounts of lunch meat and mayo, which I also crave daily! The carb cravings have scared me up and thrown me off a bit. I normally don't desire food really at all, and I have to wonder what's up with my body. The weight loss has trickled to a halt, right after I complained last week about feeling like I was losing too much, too soon. Go freaking figure. Scrambled eggs piss me off, by the way. They are still the hardest food to eat for me. I can eat steak better than I can eat scrambled eggs! Hugs, EN. Go protein!

So yesterday was horrible. I did not want to eat, but I forced myself and go in 100 grams of protein. However, when I went to take my calcium I was so full that I couldn't stomach it and spit it out. So the vites were not complete yesterday. I got all in except 250 mg of calcium, I had gotten over 500 mg of calcium and I did not get my iron in.
I hear about some of you swallowing your vites. All of mine are chewable except for a special Dry D capsule. Are we allowed to swallow small pills? I have not taken my antidepressant since surgery because it has a total gag effect on me when I crush it. I have only been able to get it down once. I have even tried putting it in flavored greek yogurt. Any hints would be appreciated.

I dont know why you would not be able to just swallow your antidepressant.

I am calling my doc today. I am beyond hormonal. I knew that going into this so its not a shock, but boy I cried for no reason yesterday, and all I wanted to do was lay in bed.

I used a liquid calcium citrate some at first, and a powder. Otherwise I just let the calcium horse pills fall apart in a little water and took them that way. I also used Citrical Petites for a while. I have NEVER used those disgusting chewable things. I think they are evil, especially chewable calcium. In my day, there was still a calcium citrate chew like those taffy-like things you can get in calcium carbonate. They were medium tolerable, but expensive.

This is you in withdrawal from your antidepressant and fucking up your brain chemistry because some idiot said you couldn't swallow a little tiny pill . Get back on your meds RIGHT NOW and get with your psychiatrist about possible medication adjustments. This is super duper important. You have been off your meds cold turkey (a subject about which I can wax more eloquent than any Southern preacher you ever heard--oh HOW I hate when surgeons ignore psych meds and psych consults on their patients GRRRRRRR) AND your absorption is changed. You need serious supervision to get your med levels back to an optimum level. For this you might need a larger dose, different form of med, or totally new med or combination of meds. Do not delay.

So far today: 2 individual containers of Greek yogurt (14 grams protein each) =28 total 3 slices of Canadian bacon (10 grams) 1/2 cup of homemade loaded baked potato soup with Any Whey protein powder mixed in right before eating. I ate two teaspoons, waited 15 minutes, ate another spoon, and so on. I will eat it again for dinner. (soup: 23 grams) powder: (17 grams) but I used half a scoop I'll eat another yogurt before bed. Did an hour of Zumba, an hour of weightlifting. Water....not so good yet. I've had about 44 ounces of water so far today. Will try to double it before the day is over. Got in all my vites today. So glad too, now I have one less thing to do today.

I am on 4 different psych meds and got none of them in the hospital. I struggled really hard once I got home with taking them crushed. I even tried taking the powder and making jello shots of my meds in an ice cube tray but they were still disgusting. I have finally found that I can take the capsules with warm tea and I let the capsule dissolve on a tea spoon for a few second before swallowing it. I have felt much better and have stopped bursting out sobbing at pictures of kittens.

I did well on my fluids today but then almost went to bed without my protein shake. I am regularly getting in one container of Greek yogurt and one protein shake a day. I am thinking its time to go up to 6 oz twice a day from my 8 once a day.

The sirloin is absolutely delightful. Unfortunately I got engrossed in a housecleaning project and forgot to eat lunch. So it's supplement for bedtime snack again tonight. Blargh.

I visited with my granddaughter today and helped bath her. It is the third day in a row that I am getting all my vites in. It is so much easier without the gas. Snacked till brunch on a bagie of nuts, jerky and cheese. Brunch was two eggs, a pile of bacon, grilled tomato and a few fries. I took the rest home and had the german sausage for lunch First dinner was leftover calamari and roasted vegies. I got some lovely cold meats at the German butcher and will have more later. Tomorrow Im going to hunt me a tub of whey isolate. I am missing my protein shakes!
Just remembered, I still have some nectar samples!

I was able to be pretty good about getting my protein for the last few weeks. I traveled in Turkey and Greece where the main foods seem to be meat and yogurt. The big problem for me was my ever changing routine and remembering to get in all my supplements. I came home with about a fourth of my doses. I'll have to double up for a while-Hope that works.
