Thank for sharing your stories and experiences also for your caring thoughts. I realize now that it was caught early and very lucky. I have realized to listen to my body more closely and try not to tough it out. This is quite a journey, one I really didn't want to take.

Any word on when they might be springing you? I know it takes time to heal an abscess, but dang! I'll bet you're sick and tired of 4west by now. As for the little lion... he spoke to me, out of all the others, and said that he belonged with you. Be well, Dani. And don't hesitate to call if'n you need any ol' thing at all. (((hugs)))

(((hugs))) I talked to Doug night before last and they were hoping to spring her yesterday, spend a night or two in town and hit the road for home. Do you have anything more recent than that?

I know what you mean about getting caught up in trying to tough it out. Too often we just suck up the pain, and shrug it off, and try to get back to normal. That can really bite us in the ass sometimes.

Can it still be a leak? YES! Does it have to be a leak? IMHO, NO!
After I had surgery they thought I had an abscess. If I hadn't gotten it taken care of so soon it probably would have been. I had lots of fluid in my right lower abdomen. I was in lots of pain. Worse then any surgery I've had. Luckily, yes luckily, it caused my bowel to become inflamed, which caused the pain. Everyone thought it was a leak. The local, general surgeon was very worried and started very strong, aggressive IV antibiotics on me. 6 days later I was feeling better and the fluid was going away so no leak, just fluid. The only thing we can think is they took my drain out too soon after my surgery, which was open. Will probably never know. BUT in MY case it was not a leak. Dr Inman's words on it were, lots of her DSers get fluid after surgery. These were her words. I have been fine since. Don't know if this pertains to your situation but just sharing my experience with you. My opinion is it very likely CAN be a leak but there are OTHER things it can be, also. Good luck sweets and keep us posted!
