Well yesterday I was officially six months postop revision from RNY to DS, 86 lbs down. approximately 62% lose so far. Seen Dr G today, small hernia, he says this will be taken care of after my Weightloss slows down, May be a good thing to get rid of extra skin. scary thing is he says if I get below a certain weight he will think about a revision to lengthen my common channel.I don't think I'll need that, too scared to even think of the pain. I like my 75cc... in the long run I know I'll need this to stop possible weight gain. failed RNY has me still so scared I'm going to fail my DS.

You have a while to NOT worry about failing your DS, The weightloss phase will last a while. I'm fighting it a bit, but I'm still losing weight. I can slow it down, but have not been able to stop it. I'm almost 8 months out, but not a revision.

Thanks I'm trying to not worry, I'm just losing slow in my mind. I know everyone is different but I feel like I'm fighting every pound off. I really just haven't let loose yet. Sent from my HTCONE using proboards

WE have heavy duty mal-absorption, and that makes a HUGE difference. I was thinking about this last night. I ate some sunflower seed butter (like peanut butter, but made with sunflower seeds) late last night. 2 TBSP was 200 calories, I think I had 4 or 5 tbsp. (around 500 calories) but I would onlly absorb about 30% of it.
140 calories from fat PER 2 TBSP = 350 cals from fat (5 TBSP x 70 cals per TBSP)
20% fat absorption of 350 cal = 70 cal from fat.
the balance is protein and a couple carbs = 30 x 5 TBSP = 150 cal
70 cal from protein x 50% absorption = 35 cals
30 cal from sugar, (1.5g per TBSP) , 100% absorption.
50 cals from the rest of the carbs (mostly dietary fiber) @ 60% absorption = 30 cal
so adding it up:
70 from fat 30 from sugar 30 from carbs 35 from protein -------------------- 165 calories
165 \ 500 = 33.0 % absorbed.
SO, eat more, NO GUILT. You may find that your weight loss picks up!! You may be in starvation mode.

Dr. G. says that to EVERYONE. Don't worry about it. Give yourself time to lose it all and then to bounce back.
Please tell me you are NOT following his supplement recommendations. He is an ultra-minimalist when it comes to supplements and refuses to budge on that issue. It's my only complaint about the man, whom I hold in very high esteem.

I was feeling fat yesterday and actually I was up four pounds...ate salad last night and the four pounds are gone. That's how a DSer rolls. It's wonderful. I'm wondering if you are in starvation mode, too. Remember to eat plenty of fat, always protein and lots of liquids. See if that helps. Try different things, switch it up and see if you can get it moving. Listen, 86 pounds in six months is nothing to sneeze at.
Keep at it I promise it will come off. You are a revision and according to the powers that be, revisions lose slower. I'm a revision from an old gastric stapling and I haven't lost all of my weight but I feel so much better and look better too. You have about two years of major weight loss so stop worrying you have some time to go during this phase.
